About Us
Walking beside men as they journey from darkness to light, building bridges of hope and restoration.
Our Story
Founded in October 2025, From Darkness to Light was created to walk beside men returning home from incarceration, helping them rebuild their lives, restore their confidence, and reconnect with their communities.
Through mentorship, therapy, practical support, and opportunities for growth, we believe every man deserves a second chance to live with purpose, dignity, and hope. Together, we work to create a stronger, more compassionate community where restoration and redemption are possible for all. As a result, we strive to lower recidivism rates.
Founded: October 2025
Service Area: Bowling Green, KY - Serving the entire state of Kentucky. We are willing to serve surrounding states that are in compliance with their own state probation and parole.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower men reentering society after incarceration by providing comprehensive support, practical resources, and personal guidance that foster stability, self-worth, and lasting transformation. We are committed to breaking cycles of recidivism by promoting education, offering therapy, employment, housing, and community connection—helping every man rebuild his life with dignity, purpose, and hope.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every man has the opportunity to transform their life, where communities embrace second chances, and where cycles of incarceration are replaced with cycles of restoration, healing, and purposeful contribution to society.
Our Founder
Tremayne Stewart is a life-coach, motivational speaker, spiritual advisor, counselor, and peer support specialist who overcame childhood trauma and addiction. After several stints in and out of prison - both state and federal - Mr. Stewart realized his powerlessness and sought help. The love and support he received while making his transition from darkness to light has since been paid forward. Mr. Stewart dedicates his life to serving others.
From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Stewart worked with Freedom Bridge to Recovery in Bowling Green, KY. A large part of what he did was help people in recovery find meaningful employment. For that to be possible, Mr. Stewart developed relationships with community leaders and local businesses.
Some of this was discussed in his autobiography entitled From Darkness to Light. A new and exciting opportunity arose in 2022 that led Mr. Stewart to relocate to Midland, TX, where he was employed by Thriving United as the Director of Transform. Mr. Stewart maintained this role until 2025. While in Midland, Mr. Stewart also worked for the Salvation Army.
Mr. Stewart returned to Bowling Green in 2025 with plans for a new endeavor. Having grown disheartened by high recidivism rates, he set his sights on providing housing and a transformative program for newly released men re-entering society. From Darkness to Light, Inc. is the manifestation of that dream.
